Title: Turn signal switch for 280sl
Post by: silvermb113 on March 25, 2010, 18:46:40
Hello,

Upon examining the broken switch (broken lever) , I am soliciting helps from anyone on this site who, I am sure, have done something with their W113 turn signal switches at one time or another. I appreciate any comments or ideas from all of oyu.

1) How can the plastic knob be removed from the signal stalk?

2)Can a W111 turn signal switch be modified to be used on a W113 car sucessfully OR any components from a W111 switch can be used to rebuild the W113 turn signal switch ? W111 turn signal switch are more abundant to be located.

3) Can the signal stalk be removed or installed without having to remove the steering wheel?
Any ideas or comments are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Harry

if all the above do not work, I am looking for a functional secondhanded turn signal switch for my 280SL.  By the way, several Ebay sellers are claiming their W111 turn signal switches as W113 switches on Ebay now.  W111 switches would not fit  and require modification of some sort to make it fit and work.

I'm also looking for a turn signal switch.  My wiper switch is the problem, not the turn signal part.
