Title: Throttle Body.
Post by: tel76 on March 14, 2010, 09:22:55
Has anyone removed the throttle butterfly and spindle from the throttle body to have the aluminium body bushed to take out the excessive free play?
If so, is there a pair of steel bushes in there or does the spindle operate directly in the aluminium housing?

Hi Eric,

Probably not much help to you ... but I had a small amount of play in my throttle body.  I sent it off to Mr. Jerry Hjeltnesf (Escondido, California) 760-746-9966.

He did an excellent job restoring the entire body and eliminating the "play"  He also installed all new pipe connection points.

The spindle sits in bronze bushes & behind the bush there is an "O" ring (that has gone rock hard !). The bushes can be replaced but there not a stock size so have to be made.

I have removed the butterfly and spindle from the throttle body and have found that the spindle is very badly worn.
Does anyone have a part number for this item or a good replacement?
Whilst the bushes are easy to make the spindle is not so.
