I will have to fabricate one of the door panels on my 70 280SL (water damage at the bottom). At the top of the panel there are fasteners holding the aluminum piece which helps form the panel. Has anyone had experience with removing the fasteners and reusing? Or would someone be able to help with what sort of fastener these are and where they can be sourced. The key seems to be that they are flush on both sides of the panel when installed unlike a pop rivet.
Thanks for your help.

I used aluminum rivets. On the inside I placed a thin washer on the rivet before crimping it in place. After crimping the rivet I hit that side with a small hammer tap to flatten the material.

I did the same as Jeff.
