Hi,
I am looking for a front axle / sub frame for a 1969 280SL, has anyone any idea if this part
would be common to any other Mercs of this era or is it unique to the 280SL?
-
I have w113 and w111, w108 as far as I can see they are all the same.

Hello,
Yes, I am sure that some of the W111 and W108 and possibly the W110 chassis MB sedans of the era are basically the same. The coil springs, and subframe mounts are different.
I would have someone run a check on the model and part numbers for any uints you come accross to make sure they are the same.

Correct. Looking at EPC-net the W108,109, 110, 111 and 113 have the same subframe.
Benz-number A111.330.30.42
When i do a search at that partnumber i see that this subframe is also used for the W112.

Thanks Eminent,
Be careful with the W109 a lot had air suspension and all the W112 had air suspension. The basic subframe would be the same but a lot of the bolt on parts like the A arms etc. are different.
-
You're right. I'm only talking subframe in my previous post.

Thanks for the reponses, I have found one off a W108 that I can use.
