Title: TOYOTA: Anyone affected??

Despite the fact that most of my printed news these days is from the WSJ and NYT (Wall Street Journal and New York Times) because the local newspapers have ceased 7 day delivery, I can't go half a day without something bad about Toyota being bantered about.  This morning--Saturday--was no exception.  In fact there was a very large article assigning Toyota's response to legal and cultural issues in Japan:

Has anyone been affected by these recalls?  Has anyone actually experienced any of their problems?

We've been affected with the Toyota problems.  We need to rent a car for my wife while her van is in the body shop ( deer accident ).  Hertz our preferred car rental and the only one we can get a size able discount on has no cars.  They can't even tell us when a car will be available.
