I'm trying to replace my front hood badge - and short of taking off the hood, is there a clever way to unscrew the old one?
I have raise the hood, and then, from the front of the car reach through the front star barrel, and then under the hood to the nut. I can feel the connection, but difficult to get a tool in that area - any tricks for this one? ???

Doug, first I do this all by "feel" - there is no way to see what you are doing. I use a 1/4" drive socket (7mm I think) on a short extension. After I get it on the nut, I connect the socket wrench on the other end. It's a tight fit, but with the 1/4" drive set it can be done.

Thanks Rick - let me try that! I'll need to borrow a smaller socket handle.

I had to work a tight spot one time and didn't have anything small enough. I went to Wal-Mart bought a cheap wrench and had it ground down to the point where I could easily reach the bolt head.

I use a palm ratchet with a small extension and a 7mm bit for that job, it works great. I got a set with 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 drives at harbor freight.

"Palm ratchet"! I've never seen one - but I'm headed right now to my favorate tool store to buy one! :D
