Hello,

If that slot goes into the coolant jacket it is a big problem and will have to be repaired.

Be aware that if the slot is from coolant corrosion damage there may be other  areas in the head which are corroded thin and weakened but have not yet broken through.

Hello Erick,

I have seen hundreds of heads.  None had a slot like this.  Possibly a broken ring or stray part was shoved up into the head by the piston. ? !

It should not cause any problems as long as it does not go into the coolant jacket.
