Title: driver side mirror rebuild
Post by: wrayb on November 10, 2009, 15:55:53
anyone have any tips on replacing the glass in the drivers side door side mirror. I have new plastic gasket etc but am unable to get the whole thing seated properly.

The mirror glass is pushed against the frame with a spring, don't be afraid you won't brake any thing, by pushing the glass mirror in you should be able to twist it on angle ant get the mirror and the plastic frame out, 5 min, job.

It's a little tricky, you have to hold the mirror glass in place with one hand & try to place the plastic retainer with the other while pushing back the mirror. Make sure you put back the piece of paper behind your new mirror, otherwise the silver lining will get damaged from vibration.
