Title: Just took possession and Now I'm possessed

Just purchased a 1970 280SL in pretty rough condition. It's a Canadian car eh and looks like its been ridden hard and put away wet a few times. Curious as to any method of finding out about the history of the car. Service records etc. as I proceed with the restoration. Also as I consider the cost of the restoratoin are there a couple of simple key points to check out to ensure the car is still worthy or restoration. I'd hate to start down the road only to find that it is a marriage wrecker.   Thanks... from Halifax Nova Scotia... John

Check out the Technical Manual, in particular this page http://www.sl113.org/wiki/Buying/Start and http://www.sl113.org/wiki/DataCard/Start. Read all of that, and then start searching the rest of the Technical Manual and forums.

You'll have to get to more specific questions to get more help, and uploading pictures is useful too!

Hey Ulf,
   Nicely put. After 28 years of marriage I can certainly relate to the analogy. I look forward to keeping the members posted as I give this marriage a whirl.
