Title: adding an a/c

hi there

how easy is it to find a a/c system for the 280 sl?

and how is it to fit it to the car?

and do they work well?

I purchased my A/C from Buds Benz a couple of years ago and whilst the evaporator is a little plasticy it works well and was not too difficult to fit if you are fairly confident with mechanicals. I fitted mine in a weekend but did take my time. As my car is right hand drive I did have a problem with the supplied hoses and ended up having some modern thin ones made up, I also sprayed the evaporator with some satin black trim paint as it comes with a very shiny finish and this did make a big difference to the look. Fitting A/C has made a big difference and I would not be without it now.
