Hi Group.
I am looking at a '69 280SL that is for sale. I have already looked it over once and test drove it. I will go back again soon for a final review. What numbers should I check? VIN and engine are obvious, but I was reading in some of the tech help sections here that the car is all original... and it appears to be so. Any inputs on key items to look at?
Also, I read that the "late" '69s were prone to overheating? Any detail on that? Was it caused by something unique to that manufacturing era? Emissions controls? Common part failure?
Thanks for any help, if I secure a deal on this one, I will have LOTS more questions I am sure....

I have been well into that manual, and the buying/evaluation section. Great resource, thank you.....
