Title: Trialer Hitch
Post by: KW-BYBEE on October 09, 2009, 21:36:11
I recently bought a 250SL and in the truck is this large piece of iron that appears to have been bolted under car under the gas tank.  Has anyone heard of a towing/trailering hitch option for any of these cars.  I am have a hard time identifying what it goes to??   Any ideas??

Kyle,
Yes, MB and other aftermarket vendors offered a trailer hitch. Take a look at this web site:

perhaps you can get an idea how it works.

I always wanted one to carry a bike rack. It would be neat to be able to carry two bicycles on the back.

Thanks for the quick reply.  That is exactly what it is!!   I only have the large bar and bolts and none of the other parts.  I guess no need in keeping it around for anything.

Offer it for sale on the German eBay site, there appears to be a market for such parts.
