Title: return spring on injection pump?
Post by: popiex3 on September 29, 2009, 23:58:52
Hi all, When I as checking my linkages on the injector  pump I noticed the return spring didn't look right. It appears that one end is not secured in the proper position. It is floating. This causes the return to the stop to be ineffective.I realize I shouldn't fool with the settings. Any one have a suggestion on how to rewind the spring and re secure it. Thanks again for all the help you guys have been

Just took a look at my spring.  Maybe I can help.  The outside part of the spring wraps around the FIP arm.  The inside part of the spring has a 90 degree bend in it and that is wedged against a stop.  Which end is floating free?

Jeff, The inside of the spring broke at the 90 degree point, I think. All better now,I drilled a small brass rod, inserted the remainder of the loose end in the hole and soldered  it. The tension of the rod on the top of the bracket and the solder should hold. I hope, if not I'll try again with epoxy. Thanks
