About 5 years ago I had my radiator boiled out and repaierd. Yesterday while still cold and not even crancked, it sudden started leaking :'(.
I am not looking forward to removing it again. After reading other posts I think re coreing it with three rows makes sense. How do I find a good shop? What do I ask for what do I look for?

I find dropping the radiator out the bottom is easy. A radiator shop might be able to fix the leak and you may not need a new core.

I must admit I've never taken my rad out from the bottom but I would think it's a real pain to remove all the bolts with the bonnet/hood in place and, as removing said item is very easy why would you want to do it any other way. In addition, you must have to jack the front up quite high to get the rad out. I've had a few cooling issues with my car (thankfully resolved) so I've had the rad in and out many times and am certain that from above must be the easiest way.

David ... Try the bottom next time. You don't need to take the hood off or the fan blade. Jack the car up high and it will drop straight down.

Daryl: I recently used King Radiator to rebuild an "industrial" (steam) radiator and I was very pleased with their work.....and honesty. I suppose at the end of the day it's each to his own and what you are used to. All I would say is that the bonnet will come off in seconds just chock it with a piece of wood, put a ladder bucket S hook on the stay, place some cloth around the front edge and on the oil cooler, remove the two 10mm bracket bolts by the air filter, pull it towards you and slightly away from the battery side to slide of that bracket and lift it straight off making sure you have a safe place to put it. It's so light you can do it on your own and, whilst I have also replaced it on my own it is safer with assistance and is straight forward to reposition without the need to make any markings on the bracket. Once removed you will not believe how easy the engine bay is to work on, access is a complete dream.

If you want to remove your rad from below try cutting up an old box to the height of the rad and pulling it out whilst on your ramps.
