...well the models at the North American International Auto Show used to look like that some years ago before someone decided that it was politically incorrect.  So they specifically chose "plain jane" lookers, and pumped them full of facts and figures about the cars...

Now, just imagine what the Fraulein of Frankfurt (or Geneva, actualy) who was on duty when our car was introduced originally, looks like today!

The number of views of a topic is directly proportional to the amount of time a topic is kept alive on the forum by new posts. It is not determined by the subject matter. There's still hope for us!

Subject matter is a factor in how long a topic is kept alive.

Actually, I reckon subject matter has got a little bit to do with that. Mostly, it's the last reply though! Check out the last 4 posts for a QED.

Hmmm ... anyone ever see a car promoted by a male model? Probably not, and there's my prediction - just a matter of time.
BTW it's the same thing with motorcycles.

Actually, yes.  At the North American International Auto Show (held in Detroit in January each year) there are plenty of male models.  Part of that political correctness thing.  It's not a bad thing.  I believe statistically, women buy or influence automotive purchases nearly as much as men; maybe more.

While some men might be attracted to a svelte, sexy model in heels hawking the benefits of Brand Z, this kind of model is arguably a turn-off for most women...hence the plain janes and the male models.

Of course at the Ferrari exhibilt last year at the NAIAS, they had "La crème de la crème" of gorgeous female models...at least that's what I'm told.  Being only 5'8" I couldn't see above the 6' tall crowd of auto writers from around the globe, 10 deep, waiting to see these models... :(

So the United States still are ahead of Europe by a couple of years ...
