Title: Grille star differences?

Here's pictures of 2 stars, the one on the left is from my 65 230SL and other is from a 68 250SL that I bought to sell.  Notice the one from my 230 (2nd photo) is different, it has a beveled edge before it meets the back half.  The one from the 280 (3rd photo) is missing its back half but it seems to be wider along the seam between the points.  I wonder if there was a design change along the way?

Interesting. I just went and checked mine, it is like the middle picture, 4706, with the beveled in edge. Mine is an early 250 SL.
