Title: Jack Type for 280SL

Does anyone know if newer jacks like that for the E320 will work with my "71 SL?

Not straight off.

The old jacks have a round pin. Later ones are somewhat oblong.
I recently found one where I was able to remove the pin and have it machined to the correct diameter. There are also two types of SL jacks. One has a fixed crank handle, the other a separate rachet wrench. The latter is shorter, which is what I had and the taller one with the crank handle did not fit in the space/brackets for the one with the crank handle.
