Title: Any 280sl high-end audio upgrades out here?
Post by: Roadstir on August 31, 2009, 02:58:09
I'm looking for some examples of member audio upgrades here.  Not necessarily talking uber-audio, but would like to add an amp and some decent speakers to enhance the highway driving experience.

Thanks~

That is on the search function: numerous threads on this one

I went Becker 7948 (the new Mexico) and love it. Mechatronik did that with blown out kick panels and bigger speakers. I replaced an amp and changer (in the trunk) that the PO installed. That went through a Europa II with an Ipod connection from Konigs

Others have all manner of things: subs in the rear parcel shelf (or a remade parcel shelf so the original is kept original), amps under seats, head units under seats (with remote control) etc

Search on some of this stuff...

I'm assuming US maps for the Becker are still not available, right?

Tosh,

I appreciate your efforts in finding this info!  Am looking to boost the sound, but know many purists are shuddering while they read this.  Am wondering if the sound is wasted if I mount my  MB Quart speakers in the kickpanels?  Would it be heard better behind the seats?  Am sure someone on here has an opinion on this.

Thanks again,

Roadstir
