Hello All Pagoda owners and admirers,
Could you all dig into your memories and see if you recognize the name "Coenen"?
I am trying to verify a special option on the Pagoda SL.
If this name does ring a bell could you email me off list.
Thank you.
Regards,

-

Hello Halfviking and Tosh,
No it has nothing to do with a rabbi or Arnold in the movie.
I was just verifying a rare option that was only ordered 13 times on the pagoda SL's. And that is the sunroof in the hardtop.
Turns out that the sunroof is not the Webasto kind, but a cheap aftermarket one done by Coenen of USA. I passed up on the opportunity. If it were a Webasto, it would be in my garage faster than you can say Eureka.
Thanks for your help.

This special sunroof option does it have a option code? It would be intresting to talk with the orginal company and do an article if they have any memory and data in their archeives. Please let me now if their is a contact address to write this company.

There was one that went through the Toronto car auction a few years ago. I looked closely at it and could have sworn it said Webasto on it.
At any rate, I guess I was lucky to have seen one if they made so few.

I've seen the one that Gernold up at SL Tech in Maine takes care of from time to time. It is definitely Webasto. I've seen 2 SLs over the years with this option, one was that 280 SL up in Maine and the other was a red 250 SL Coupe in Northern Virginia. Both were sliding roof panels and not the crank style.
