The one car I would have liked from Gooding (Lancia Aurelia, Lot 86 (http://www.goodingco.com/auction/product.g&c?pid=332), offered with no reserve, estimated $110K-$145K) did not get sold. Can someone with more auction experience explain to me how it is possible that a car offered with no reserve does not get sold at an auction like this (unless it was withdrawn before the event, which does not appear to be the case, as the car is still in the Catalogue).

Its called protecting the reserve, Gooding or the seller can place that floor bid and not disclose, its in fine print
