Title: DB226 Moss Green pics anyone?
Post by: cascadia on August 15, 2009, 06:45:46: I have my 230SL completely apart now, ready for paint, and am narrowing down my choices. I started leaning towards the idea of DB190 Graphite Gray but am now considering DB226 Moss Green, different from DB834 Moss Green Metallic. I didnt' have much luck finding photos of this color on google and am wondering if anyone has a picture of this color they can post. Enclosed is a pic from the pagodentreff.de site, towards the back you can see (what I think is) a DB226 car in front of a DB834 car.

I'm not one to talk about color choices as I have a pretty strange color (Medium Gray, which looks a lot like green), but wanted to know what was the combination you intend to end up with. I remember your barn find which I assume is the one you're painting to be white with blue interior, although I may very well be wrong. Will you end up with Moss Green with a Blue interior?

Anyway, please do post pictures of the progress, I enjoyed the initial ones very much.

Moss Green (DB226) would be a beautiful choice. I was at Star Fest on Treasure Island in San Francisco last fall and there was a highly restored Moss Green on Parchment 230SL being shown. Maybe the owner of the car is a member and can share their pictures. Are you planning to repaint the dash? Might be a good time to consider changing the interior color if you choose to.

Your car's exterior color looks like Moss Green Metallic. Can you confirm the color code as 834H or 834G? (from the metal plate on the engine bay side of the left front fender)
