Title: emergency brake cable pulley
Post by: popiex3 on July 18, 2009, 22:20:34
I need some help to free the pulley for the emergency brake cable. Can I drive the bolt and brass bushing through the housing and replace the bolt and bushing? Or is the bolt threaded through the bushing? The assembly has been soaking in  PB Blaster for 2 days and the bolt still won't budge. Thanks for any suggestions

If this is a 230 with drum brakes, the original bolt is aluminum and can be easily drilled out.

Naj, Yes it is a 67 230sl with drum brakes I had thought of drilling, but didn't think to just drill the bolt. Now knowing it's aluminum should make it an easier task. Thanks again
