Thomas - your 230SL looks great without any 'make-up'!  Looks like you may have used a telephoto lens?

It´s taken with a cheap eq. A Canon E350 and a tele Tamron 70-300. The background is pure Swedish westcoast nature on my way to the old prisonisland Marstrand. A very nice place and a must if you visit Sweden =) Lots of sailingboats and good food. Hope you all have a nice Pagode-summer.

Hi Thomas

I  have plenty of photos posted,    no fancy camera.  I like the sony and either use a 3 x pocket one or my 10x zoom.

Key to a good Pagoda picture is to have the classic car in an exclusive pose. no fords, chevys, bmw's cluttering the foreground and background.

Have it on it's own in an idealic setting or background.   I like a water background but if I lived in England who knows, maybe castles, old buildings and graveyards would be a nice setting

No need for fancy photoshoping, just know how to crop it or crop the rubbish out of the pic.

Also sunny conditions particularly early morning sun of late afternoon sun, preferablythe sun not in the background

And if all  else fails take plenty of pics and take the best of

Those are my simple tips from a simple guy

Thank you Rob. I will take out my precius from the new clean garage. I´ll like the idea of photoing on a old graveyard. Black and white and in a stormy weather... Hope they dont mind =)

Wow  , great pic.  Glad to see I'm not the only one to stop on a bridge and take a pic. Hopefully you didn't bank those double decker buses to far back!

You'd have no end of photo opportunities in London.

I dare you to Double park out front of Buckingham Palace and post us a pic!

Rob, have this one as a bonus. Again, autofixed.

I went a bit wild taking photos for "the book", and these did not make my final cut.

Thomas, that is a fantastic shot.

I think (hind sight being 20/20) that off-setting the car more to the right leaving the road to draw the eye would also be very effective but you'd need a wide lens. IMO one of the best photos I've seen of a 113 on this site.
I've meddled (apologies) with it a little but had to reduce the size to get it to upload and in the process it's lost some impact.

Upload some more.

Wonderfull Picture Thomas !  Not only the car will get attention but also the Lady (and the dog).

Last time we visited Stockholm, we did not spot any single Pagoda, but lots of the most expensive
SL's and even the most worthless wrecks. Just for fun I will add one picture.

Oh...and btw....did you ever plan to centre your exhaust-pipes ?  ;D

Yes I must buy a wide lens...
Back from a few weeks sailing in the swedish west coast archipelago. Very nice but to far away from my 230 SL=). Tomorrow my 10 yo daughter and I will have a all-day trip with the Pagoda. Looking forward to it. In the evening there will be a meeting for old cars. Hopefully I can take a few pictures to share.
In Sweden there are not so many w113.
In May this year I went for a car-meeting at Tjolöholm castle. It was over 1300 classical cars and only 6 Pagodas.  (http://www.classicmotor.se/varatraffar/article464672.ece my SL is between the 59´th Cadillac con. and the Esprite Frog Eye. I now became famous and a celebrity  ;D
I bought my SL this spring and have driven almost 4000km and only seen 1 Pagoda on the road.
They are very rare here in Sweden.
But we have a lot of rusty wrecks Mercedes here. In the wintertime they spreading tons of salt on the streets...
Leo, and everybody else, next time you visit Sweden you must tell me.
...and in that time I have center my exhaust. :)
All the best to you
/Thomas

Not surprisingly, quite a few Volvos at that meeting... ;) Where are you situated in Sweden? There are talks about a Scandinavian event next year - perhaps near Göteborg (Gothenburg) as this would be the easiest for both the Danes, Swedes and Norwegians (and a particularly nice drive up the coast from the ferry for me...)
