Title: Mechanics to Install Engine, Transmission and Injection Pump in Los Angeles Area

I'm looking for a good mechanic to install and hook-up a fresh rebuilt long block, rebuilt transmission, and rebuilt injection pump in or near Los Angeles.  I appreciate any referrals or suggestions for mechanics that know our cars well.  This is for a '71 280SL.  Thanks!

Tom is extremely knowledgeable about Pagodas, and does first rate work.  One of his restorations -- a 1969 280SL belonging to Steven Nagelberg -- has just won another first place award, this time at the prestigious Muckenthaler Concours in Fullerton.

I have no connection to Tom except as a friend, and he's done some work on my car.

I can highly recommend Scott Melnick and Classic Mercedes Benz in Malibu.  310-456-5000.  Scott took care of a complete engine rebuild, injection pump recondition, and installation of a sport suspension kit that he designed with a former AMG guy. Scott knows Pagodas inside and out and is a great guy as well. Give Scott a call before deciding on where to take your car.
