Title: engine
Post by: n/a on December 29, 2003, 13:35:43
here are some pictures from the engine.
last week we finished it, now we are busy with al the equipment we have to put in also.
we put the engine in the car without the gears (sorry for my bad english). after the motor was in the car, we put the gear in.
It works very easy, I think we were busy about 1.5 hours.
hope you enjoy the pictures.

J.
Wow!  Fabulous work you've done.  I'd like to have a poster size print of these entitled, "Noble Goal".
Can't wait to see the rest of the car when it's done.

Jans,
Beautiful! I like how you have lots of original, old details like the brake fluid reservoir.
Make sure you paint that splash shield in front of the battery (behind the grill) satin black. A brush will do just fine. (That's the way it came from the factory.)

Perhaps we can intice you to write a short article on your restoration and have your SL grace the cover of Pagoda World.

I would sure second Bob's motion. This is first rate work, that I am sure others would be very anxious to learn and see more about. Me included!

Jans,
Is the engine bay paint colour the same as the external body colour?

I will be meeting Jan in a couple of weeks and will discuss the possibility of an article for Pagoda World with him for sure. I visited him last year and was amazed at the quality of the work going on. This will be a brand-new car when it's done, truly a 'frame-off restoration'.
