Finally getting the garage straight - after four years. The four car garage has been sacrificed for somewhere for the Mother-in-law to live and so I am down to 2. The garage door rolls around the wall so the wall cannot be used. Other of course than as an art gallery...
There are two cars going to be in the garage....

I would kill for a 4 car garage! Here in Hawaii anything more than a 2 car garage is very scarce unless you have a few $mil to plunk down. If if it were me, the mother in law would be living in other (adequate of course) accommodations. 8)

2 questions: first, have you ever thought about getting some bikes? You might find that they're quite handy for getting about that part of London. Just an idea.

Looking at the number of bikes in the background, every one rides a bike twice over including the mother-in-law. My newly built shed for the cars is full of furniture at the moment waiting for the house to be finished and now i have to rent a space for the car!

Two car garage in Wapping? Dream on. This is in Suffolk. Porker been sold. Restoration waaay too rich for my blood in this climate. So I took a small loss now rather than a big one later.
There are a few bikes. Got 8 in total, including 5 Moultons

I used to live with Shaun Moulton. He bought a bike home once from his dad's factory to show us how cool it was but he left it outside and someone pinched it.
Not a great story, I know, but there's a lesson there somewhere.

In Holland, the average person owns something like 1.3 bicycles. Me, I own 5: one in the one-car garage, one for tooling about in Amsterdam (golden rule: make sure the locks are more valuable than the bike, or it will get stolen), one for moderate distances like the 8-mile hike to work, one true racing bike, and one at the summer trailer-beach home. My 10-year old son has 2 bicycles, and my wife only 1 ...

Ah the Dutch (and Belgians) and their beloved bicycles. Whilst visiting Groningen a few years ago I was offered a very nice bicycle for a song on the street somewhere, and my hostess quickly put an end to my serious consideration by kindly informing me that the penalty for buying a stolen bicycle was almost as harsh as for stealing it. Had a wonderful time tooling around the countryside on a rental though. Later on in Bruges (Belgium), I found that in many parts of the city, bicycles had a greater right of way than cars. (what a quaint idea from an American point of view!)
Austin is generally bike-friendly, but Texan pickup truck drivers didn't always show respect for bikers (recall incident of beer cans hurled at Lance Armstrong). The tide is turning though, as evidenced by my 3 bikes: road, mountain, and 'expendable'.

Mr. Moulton of Morris Minor suspension fame?? Ran across his shop(Bradford-on-Avon ??) five or so years ago. Still alive?? Helluva guy!!

Shaun should have known better. They really are a fabulous bike to ride, and I wouldn't dream of leaving mine out and about unlocked

Dr Moulton - yes , he of Mini (and Concorde) suspension. 89 this year, I believe. His family were "Avon Rubber"

I had a Moulton standard when at school in 1966 when England won the world cup brilliant bike paid £27for it fell behind on the second payment :o but payed it off 10 years later ;D money no object then ;) sorry i ever sold it. Cheers Mike.
