Title: ALL the Luck

You know some days things just go right.
Received an KPH speedo from another forum member (Greece) and took it to a local instrument maker that I have used for repairing aircraft clocks in the past. (he is 80 years old)  Showed him the instrument that really needed a new face in addition to restoration, he pulls out an dirty dusty box of old parts and sitting on top, a brand new speedo face.  Its my lucky day.

And his, too! Reckon the chance that he'll be able to tick off one more of his "dead stock"  items!

 Good point, some of his stock is as old as him. Is known by the Air Force as the best aircraft clock repairer in Oz! When I go back I will have to ask to have a look in the box.  He said that he had faces for every clock ever made, including VDO.  I could almost believe him.

Said it would take several months for him to do the restoration due to work he had.  He is so old and dottery that I am a bit worried that he may pass away before then :o
