Not a 113 question, but a 129 question, sorry...
I have an opportunity to buy a '97 129 40th Anniversary Edition (quartz blue metallic paint w/gray leather interior and special wood.... for $18k. Car is 2 owner with 30k miles, all records, window sticker, etc....
Is this a good price? Any mechanical, electrical, other issues with this model? I would be replacing my current E320 sedan with 160k miles with this SL320.... Is this a good decision?
I appreciate this group and your response...
Thank you!

Bob,
These were pretty robust vehicles. Something to pay attention to is the condition of all the little motors and sensors (etc) that make the top do its magic dance. Top replacement is also a pretty big deal. I can't say anything about pricing, will let the others jump in on that score. Are there any forums for this particular model??

Bob:
I had a 904 Dark Blue '97 with 22,000 when I bought it in '05. Sold it last year with 30,000 on it for $23,000. I loved the car (so does the new owner). No issues at all with mine. i would watch the soft top mechanism (leaks at the top of the A pillars) as I have seen that on older ones. The 5 speed trans with the 6 cyl should be an excellent combination. They have a great feel to them - an excellent everyday car in my opinion.
Good Luck!
