Post by: paults1 on April 12, 2009, 20:43:05
From experience, which is the better washer to use for the oil pan drain plug, copper or
aluminum?

A 'crushable' copper washer is normally included in the filter kits.

If not, you can buy an N 915035 000025 from a dealer.

I just did my engine oil service andused Mann filter with cooper washerss. The alumiun washer is for the bolt  on theoil canister.

I do have a question for the forum. I purchased a new style oil pan with the smaller drain plug. does it still take the smame size cooper washer?
