Title: how to set timing and dwell

Greetings.
I have been searching through the site and cant find a place that explains how to set the timing and dwell.
I am sorry but I am new to this so i need alittle step by step instructions before i start walking.
my car is a 1970 280 SL manual with pertronix ignition.

There's much more info for electronic ignitions, distributors etc. Just look around the Technical Manual or use the Search function (top right of the Forum).

thanks for that info.
my compression is 190 on all cylinders.
should my settings be different then?
anyone have any experience with settings for higher compression motors?
