My Becker radio was not illuminating and I removed the light bulb which needed to be replaced. It had a Philips 12829 12v2w bulb in it. I've tried all the auto parts stores around with no success on seeking out this bulb.
Now that I've begun I figured this would be a good time to replace other bulbs; heater levers, clock, etc.
Does anyone know of a good source for these items in the US?
thanks.

www.TopBulb.com has a large selection of bulbs, including the hard to find types. I have only used them once but was happy with the pricing, service, and quick handling of my order.

Thanks Tony.
I found it on their site right away. I'll start working on my list to replace.

Did you try your MB dealer? They had the heater lever bulbs. Not cheap, maybe $2 each, but they had them in stock. I don't think they could help you with your radio light bulb.

Just be sure to take the bulb with you if you go to the MB dealer. I took the old part number, and the conversion part number they had, was not the correct bulb. Also, for my car (early 250SL) the heater lever bulbs are not the same as the dash bulbs (even though the part book lists them as the same number). I used Miller's and they had both types, I do not have their part number with me but can get them later if you need them.

Dana,
The best place to find the bulbs is from Becker of North America. If you call them, they will know the the proper bulb from your description of where it goes in the radio.
The bulbs are cheap compared with the cost of shipping.

Stan

For the dash, I got Jahn N177202 (2 watt) the Miller number was 2131541, the box had 1511 stamped on the end cover. The heater lever lights were Osram 3898 BA7. My car does not have a radio, so I have no reference point for those bulbs. Good luck.

Hello Dana,
Give Ed a call or email him at Becker. He is very helpful and a great enthusiast. Becker was kind enough to contribute three new original W113 radio speakers and some other items for door pizes to our group at the Blacklick Ohio Tech Session last summer. Be sure to mention our group. Here is some information;

Also, Dan Stern of Dan Stern Lighting is a good source for bulbs. dastern@vrx.net -JP-
