Title: questions on rear chrome strip installation
Post by: Ron on February 28, 2009, 16:08:25

OK, I purchased all the missing parts to install that short chrome strip under the license plate on the rear.  But the parts were not on the car when I purchased it, so I don't know the correct way to install them.

The clips have a little tongue.  The parts that attach to the car, I'll call them holders, have a zig-zag and a flat on either side of a slot.  So here's my questions:

1.  Does the zig-zag go on the top side or bottom side of the holder when installed on car?

2.  Does the tongue for the clip fit in the slot, or over the top of the holder, then in the slot?

3.  How do you actually do the final installation of the chrome strip?  With clips in the strip and trying to get the tongues in the correct place????  Or clips on the car, then pop on the chrome strip?

Any help will be appreciated.

Ron

Ron,

The zigzag part goes on the top side when popped on the car. (the zigzag pointing down)
To install the chrome strip you will need to insert the clips in the strip align them to the "zigzags" and push the chromstrip downwards so that the "tongues" of the clips slides into the zigzag slots.
