Hi, this is probably a stupid question, but my search of the site did not uncover and answer. Where do can one purchase a new rubber seal for the canister for the fuel filter? My new filter did not have one in the box (a Mann unit), should it? My dealer says there's no part number for it. Does anyone have the M-B number? Thanks in advance. Ron

Hi Ron,
I would think that the MB dealer should be able to get them, also many of our vendor supporters on this site.

Hi Ron,
The part number for the seal ring is 1009970040. I've made the mistake myself assuming the seal ring was included with the fuel filter(as is the case with oil filters usually). According to the parts catalog illustration the fuel filter w/ part #000 477 6415 also includes the seal ring.
Regards,
Hans

My experience is exactly as Hans mentioned. The Mann did not have the seal but it is readily available from our vendors or directly from MB. And I currently have on the shelf a MBZ filter (000 477 6415) that has the seal in the box...
Now if I only had a third hand to help me keep that seal up there while I reattach the cannister! I used a dab of vaseline last time that helped but you have to be quick about it...

Thanks folks, the seal is on order from the dealer. This site and you fellas are great for helping get my car back to running. Ron
