Wheels question?
I purchased a set of wheels that have the part number 108 400 00 02. They are date coded 11/66. The tech manual suggests that these wheels replaced the 113 400 00 06 for the 230SL. Am I correct in assuming that the 108 wheels are factory correct for a 230SL - 250SL?
Many Thanks,
John

108 wheels are correct for a 230SL after VIN 005498, "with the exception of 005500, 5502, 5505, 5506, 5510, 5513 and 5521".
You should be fine unless yours is one of those exceptions.

Hello John,
I show the correct W108 wheel as #108 400 00 02. Chect to see if the wheels you got has the stampings to recieve the small hub caps.
The W108 V-8 wheels were 1/2" wider (6 1/2") and did not have any provision to accept the smal hub caps. Not sure what these were numbered.

Hello Joe,
The wheels are stamped 6Jx14H, dated 11/66 and have the stampings for the small hubcaps. When I bought the wheels I was told they were for a 280SL. I guess they are really for a late 230SL and 250SL's.

Thanks John,
These seem to be another correct version, I am adding the new number to my data.
