need mechanic

hello, we are thinking of purchasing a 1966 230SL automatic, its from the original owner with all service history from day one, its in excellent condition, asking price $33000-no rust so they say and no A/C, it does however, have power steering, any suggestions as to finding someone in the downtown seattle area that we could hire to throughly check it out for us,as we live in san francisco?

also, any recommendations for a good knowledgable PAGODA mechanic in san francisco or marin county?

many thanks,
jonathan

If I'm not mistaken, we already discussed that car here:

hi douglas

thank you for your response, this car is not the one you are speaking about, the one we are interested in is being sold private party by the lady owner.

thanks again.

I've heard great things about "Smokey" at Phil Smart Mercedes. Although I've never had any dealings with him, he seems to have a loyal following.
