WRD Part Missing?
« on: August 13, 2018, 06:40:14 »
A few months ago I took apart my WRD and I am putting it back together.  I think I might be missing a part.  Can anyone confirm?

I am thinking it is #3.  I don't know where the part might have gone though.

Thanks,  Kevin

Was this engine running before you took it apart?  When you add the ring, the cold running mixture will be richer.

Yes it was running but a couple of the plungers seized up after sitting so long so I had to remove the pump.

Looks like this.  Unfortunately I don’t have a spare.  If memory serves you have a lathe?

OD:  1.102”    28mm
ID:   0.472”.   12mm
Total thickness:  0.20”    5.1mm
ID of recess: 0.867”     22mm
Depth or recess:  0.119”   3mm

If you look closely there is a little 45 degree chamfer on the ID at the bottom of the recess.  All other edges deburred only.

Thanks Dash.  I almost hate to admit it but I recently bought a spare FIP. I just didn’t want to take it apart if I didn’t have to.

Where do you live anyway?  I’m in St Louis Heights on Oahu.

Hi,

It's made out of steel, not aluminium.

Yes steel.  I ended up finding another parts pump I had forgotten about.  I sort of stocked up when I decided to rebuild my pump.  PM me your address and I will send the part to you. I will never use it.

I've been in Mililani for quite a few years but making the move to the Kailua side of Kaneohe in Sept.  Giving the Pagoda a nice view finally  ;)

We might have to meet up for a cruise one day  8)

Authentic Classics carries the ring. There are 2 versions. The replacement thermostats require a modified ring in order to fit properly. Judging your photo you have an original type WRD thermostat. Link below:
