Title: "Daddy, where do kinder seats come from?"
Post by: Douglas on June 28, 2005, 17:53:08
I've been uncharacteristically absent in the Forums lately and Pagoda World is late again, so I owe everyone an explanation.

I'm pleased to say that my wife and I just had a healthy 8+lb son, Christian, enter this world on June 9th here in Manhattan.

I'm not pleased, however, to say that I've fallen behind in some of these other responsibilities.

Thank you all for your continued patience and support.  :)

You have a new, more important responsibility...Congrats!

Isn't cutting those tiny fingernails freaky!

Have you learned the three crys?   Hungry - Dirty - Sick...you'll learn the difference soon enough!

Congratulations!!!  Excellent news,  learn to savor every moment.  Most important words from my parents... Grandchildren are your reward for not killing your kids!

Can't wait to see you tooling around in your minivan with the dvd player and the disneyworld bumper sticker.

Thank you all for your heartfelt good wishes. And a special congrats to Fernando ("Hauser") for your newest addition too.

I haven't mastered deciphering all the cries yet, but I'm working on it.

Finally, no minivan in our immediate future, but we now have a "Prancing Moose" in the garage -- a Volvo wagon with a 3rd seat.

Don't we all get cigars with little Pagodas on them or something?

Way to go, proud Papas...

Well done and congratulations to both sets of parents !

Car magazines can wait...............babies cant !!

Enjoy every moment with them, I have a 5 year old and a 11 month old, both delightful and I cherish every moment with them !

I even forgave my youngest for being born on the same day we hold a huge car event here in Ireland, which pretty much means I will miss it every time from now on !

Someone was trying to test me !!  ;)

Regards,
Ben in Ireland.

Congratulations to you and your wife!  If you think you've ever been busy in the past, just wait!!!

I speak from experience that once they get past that backward facing car seat issue, you can put a regular one in the passenger seat--my 6 year old daughter and I often go cruising for ice cream in the summer with the Pagoda "Kiddy Car", car seat on my right, daughter safely strapped in with the 3-point retractables, and everyone is happy except the wife because there is no room for her!

Michael don't be so sure your wife isn't happy.  Sometimes that alone time is cherished.

Douglas please note that infant formula helps to give leather a nice patina and particularly pungent odor when left to swelter in the summer sun.

Looking forward to your return to events in 18 years.

Douglas,

Congrats on your newest passenger!  My most cherished memories are of riding alone with my father (without the 4 older kids) in his landyacht 56 Buick around the streets of San Francisco, and I'm sure my motion-sickness upchuck contributed greatly to its "patina."
