power steering fluid leak
« on: May 09, 2019, 16:18:11 »
My 250SL has a power steering fluid leak.  This seems to be a common Mercedes problem, caused by the power steering pump, hoses, seals, reservoir container, or O ring.  Does anyone have a suggestion on where to get parts?

All parts are readily available from the dealer or numerous after-market sources. Try the vendor list or on-line sources. The pump is rebuildable with a simple seal and o-ring kit. the low pressure hose must be rated for ps fluid. the high pressure hose is fairly expensive and must be ordered or rebuilt. The power steering box is complex and difficult. Most owners choose to exchange it out or have it rebuilt from a rebuilder.
