Maybe I looked at your picture too quickly. There is a ground wire from location on the engine next to distributor (that is what I though you were asking) and this one goes to the radiator holding bolt.

If you have a strap attached to relay bracket, well, I do not know, perhaps goes down to the transistors unit under the battery...

I believe these maybe called window whiskers from reading in the forum but can't see much info on originality. Also I'm concerned about the visible material at the top, and not sure if that is separate from the brushes against the glass, or just a sign the whole thing is worn out.
Mine appear to be white cloth that has got stained over time, but I wonder if anyone else has seen these or if they should have been black and sort of velvet/felt covered from the factory, with that just having worn down to the base material. White/natural would seem an impractical edging!?

Any idea what it might cost to have new ones put on both doors - don't know I can face taking yet another thing apart on the car right now lol.

The rubber end of the loose piece seems entirely flat and smooth - not as if it was somehow attached to this.

Does anyone know why the end of my tach cable might be separate other than a break? When I removed the tacho this came off the cable while still screwed onto the back of the gauge. I did not apply much pressure and it does not seem to be wrenched from the other end of the cable. It looks like they were just butted to one another with the cable running through this and perhaps attaching inside the gauge.

I really don't want to have to replace the whole thing from the other end if I don't have to!

I'm working on the gauges right now and there have been a lot of expletives. The speedo cable would not reach to re-attach after I replaced the gasket on the speedo to dash. The oil line to back of the central cluster would not reach. Dreading the tacho.. I also had it come apart when I took it out, so now starting a separate thread about that (weeping quietly lol)

The steering wheel in Mercedes Benz cars has been a topic of discussion ever since the 60s. It was always an issue, that the wheels were too large. Steering and suspension engineers were looking at a possible rate of 1½ to 2 handwheel turns per second in order to achieve safe steering during backward parking and evasive maneuver operations. Mercedes Benz did not have power steering as standard in their passenger cars until the 70s. So, to be able to steer a manual steering gear you needed a certain size steering wheel, considering a rather heavy weight on the front axle due to 6-cyl and 8-cyl engines. Also, the "typical" MB customer and driver was a male older than 45. All these factors and the scenario of having the same steering wheel for manual steering and power steering models resulted in steering wheels "oversized" for many people's taste.
The Italian wood-rim Nardi wheels were a coveted sports car accessory in the 60s and many owners of various brands of "sporty" cars put them in their vehicles.

Pawel
Did a few searches and no luck. So if someone can help with the location of the end of the ground wire in the photo I would much appreciate it.

The points are at 16 thousandth.  I really didn't change anything else.  I didn't check for a vacuum leak.  I'll check everything when I can get back to it.  There was a little corrosion inside the distributor and the old points were burnt.

Vacuum leak, low fuel level, not enough ignition timing, wrong dwell angle, idle screw turned in too far.  Lots to look for.
