Title: Sunday in Melbourne
Post by: Duncan200 on October 29, 2023, 23:44:01
I was dropping my wife up to her shop in Upper Ferntree Gully and spotted this blue beauty heading down Napoleon Road just before 11am on Sunday 29th October.

It’s dashcam footage so not the clearest, but if you’re a club member, you have been spotted!

It was at that point that my wife commented that it was beautiful and if it inspires me to get mine finished?

Great spot! Looking forward to seeing yours back on the road. What is holding it back time/ money/ both?

Mainly just time Dave, but I’m still waiting on my engine and injection pump.

Rear axle will hopefully be back in this weekend and I’ve started fiddling around with sound deadening and carpet.

I was hoping I’d be done by this Christmas, but sadly I don’t think I will.

Hi Duncan,

I just checked my photos and can confirm I was returning from a morning run to Monbulk around 11am on 29th October.

This is my "driver" 280SL - which won it's class at the 2016 MB Concours. My Burgundy/Dark Red one is restored to a much higher level but the Grey Blue one (906G with 387H roof and Hubcaps) has a striking colour combo.

Always nice to be spotted.  :)

Hi Rob...

we don't very often get a "spottee" responding! Great photo too!

Hi Rob,

It was great to see one out in real life and not stuck in a garage like mine.

Definitely gives me more motivation to get mine finished.

I didn’t make it to MBCV Concours this year, perhaps if I get mine finished before next years event, I’ll join the club and bring it up, but only for display as my resto will not be good enough for judging.

Doug.

Hi Duncan,

Always great to see another Pagoda on the road regardless of the condition. Many of us in our little driving group have been through what you are going through now, so l wish you every success, and hope we see you on the road soon.

Cheers.

Rob.
