Title: wood trim
Post by: John Betsch - "SADIE" on November 28, 2018, 19:40:44
Just purchased a set of wood trim from the Classic Center. for a 65 230sl  The radio Grill Cover came with two pre-drilled screw holes.  My present trim does not have any visible screws.  I would expect the Classic Center to be correct but is it?

Yes. There are supposed to be 2 screws that fasten the wood speaker grill to the dash.

Well, no for the 230. Instead two pins that goes to clips in the dash. See https://www.sl113.org/forums/uploaded/sjiatrou/2007210203042_SpeakerGrill.jpg

The cutoff between pins and screws in the speaker grill was made in beginning of November 1965 from VIN #14090, according to Pagoda Notes Vol. 10 No. 2.
