Glovebox
« on: June 22, 2008, 19:17:04 »
Hi All!

I am putting my glovebox back together again and could use your help!
The middle 2 screws of the lid are held on the chrome hinge with 2 flat spring clips (i think?).  I dont recall seeing the ends of the clips before?  Does yours look like this?  Are the ends of the 2 center clips exposed when you open the glove box lid?
Help....

Thanks!
Bob

Not sure if this helps, it's from an early 250.  Your car looks like it's coming together great!

Thanks John,

It does help!  I dont see any clip end showing in-between your 2 inner screws and the chrome hinge.  It looks flush, as it should. The door does have 2 thin slots, made to hold some sort of retainer for the 2 inner screws, since the holes are not threaded...

Now the question is what do these parts look like?  What is the correct part number?  For some reason, they were not in the baggies with the other glove box parts that I have...[:(!]

Thanks!
Bob  :)

Bob,

According to my parts catalogue, the part number for the clips would be: A140 994 10 45 (superceded from A000 994 04 45 and A000 994 33 45)

Bob,
I believe you are looking for these clips. Let me know if you want high res pics and I'll email them. Dave Gallon (see vendors list) should be able to get them.

Hi Alfred,

Thanks.  I do have those clips.  The retainer (threaded clips) that I am referring to actually sit (clip into) the door itself.  The door has 2 thin slots on the inner 2 screw holes.  The slots hold a threaded clip so the 2 inner screws have something to tighten to.
