Post by: Michaelg on January 01, 2016, 22:56:27
I have a wood steering wheel in my 1970 280 sl that needs work. need a little guidance . can handle anything if well coached!!
Needs to be stripped, voids need to be filled and refinished with the right products.

Anybody out there had a good result doing this project?

happy new year.

Cheers.

Strip, sand, fill with epoxy and refinish with automotive clear.  If it is a Nardi Classic it may be easier to just buy a new one.

It would have been dealer supplied if not fitted later and not from MB.. Restore the old one as the newer Nardi’s are no where near as good as the 60’s ones.
