Chrome strips on top of soft top storage lid.
« on: January 25, 2011, 06:10:24 »
There are two chrome "L" shaped strips on the top of the lid, left and right and the chrome hardtop pin adapter at the centre of the two strips.  I just installed mine and there is about .25" gap between them at the centre.  Is this correct or should they touch. I do not seem to be able to get them to touch as the length is controlled by the curve on either side of the lid.

Is the .25" gap correct??

There is meant to be a small joiner similar to that at the front of the windscreen to be fitted to cover the gap.

Thanks Gary, I thought so but I cannot find a drawing that shows it.  I will just have to look harder I guess.

Thanks for the help.

Al,

I stand corrected if we are talking about the front as I just had a look at another Pagoda today  and there was no joiner so just got home and checked mine as well and no joiner they just fit snuggly together. See photo both of join but also of the other end that may help re position of each piece.

Al,

There is 2 L shape pieces which are wide at the rear of the lid attached with screws . They are suppose to have a clip joiner connecting them. The smaller pieces of chrome, at the front of the lid, do not have a joiner clip.

Al,
As Rolf has also correctly pointed out that there is the two rear pieces that have the joiner so you may be talking about those. Here is a photo of that area
