Title: flow thru ventilation
Post by: zak on December 06, 2017, 00:07:01
What was the last MB model that had flow thru ventilation where with the right setting just the speed of the car allowed outside air to enter the cabin?
I always enjoyed that sensation. No motor or fan noise, just flowing air.
My 107 and 113 has it. I don't recall if the 123's had that feature.
I had a 1949 Plymouth Flathead Coupe that had a "flap" that you could open at the base of the windshield to allow air inside. I always used in the summer.
I guess it was the same principle with fold down windshields back in the day.
Forgive my daydreaming....

No, the cabrios did not have this type of windshield (Defenders - Land Rovers have it - at least the flaps at the bottom).

But all Gs have flow through ventilation through the central vents. Including cabrios.

As this is matching your desription, I thought that it would be sufficient for daydreaming purposes.  ;D

While it may "keep you cool" there's something about pulling bugs out from between your teeth that make this a bit unappealing...

And whatever happened to the good old vent window?
Gone the way of the Dodo.
