My guess is that these prices are a bit high...and he might do better with a German buyer.  Only an auction would tell for sure...

Just looked at some DKWs for sale in The Netherlands; highest prices for show-ready full restored 1938: EUR 2 thousand; 1953 fully restored: EUR 8 thousand.

"With a frame off restoration, this car would be ready for Pebble Beach"

This quote from his add made me laugh.  Any car with a PROPPER frame off restoration could be ready for pebble beach.

Just a WAGAA (Wild-Ass Guess And Assumption): No DKW of this particular vintage, in any condition, will soil grace the field at Pebble Beach...I could be very wrong and reserve that possibility, but unless they create a class one day of "Bad Euro 2-Stroke and Other Cars" and fill it full of DKW, Lloyd, Trabant, Borgward, Gogomobil and others mostly forgotten, these cars will remain obscure collectibles with a peculiar following never getting much recognition or money at resale...and they won't get dressed properly for the dance, either.  They sure are fun to remember, however, and see them in person!

Well I almost stand corrected.

http://www.finecars.cc/en/detail/car/135529/index.html

I understand this most interesting if not peculiar "Zundapp Janus 250" in impeccable condition will be auctioned in one of the auctions surrounding the Pebble Beach affair.  I understand they expect this beautiful example to go for over $35,000.

Not exactly on the show field at Pebble, but one of "those cars" in the "Bad Euro 2-Stroke and Other Cars" category...that I would absolutely LOVE to have! :)  Just the name alone is quite cool.
