Automatic inhibitor switch
« on: June 05, 2004, 01:43:21 »
Hello all,

I couldn't get my car to start this morning and played around with the obvious things for a few minutes. It started as soon as I jiggled the automatic inhibitor switch mounted on the firewall. Then I noticed that the car also started while in gear (or not at all) depending on the position of the lever. The lever and attached cable move very easily. Any suggestions as to how to fix this would be much appreciated.

Hello Mark,
It sounds like the cable is broken. It usually breaks a the connection point on the transmission linkage.
