2013 Mustang Preview Commercial
« on: February 24, 2012, 17:58:08 »
I know there are some Mustang fans out there, and a few who have even restored them; the model is even mentioned in Pagoda Style!  Despite the fact that this Mustang fandom might be for older Mustangs, those who like the marque and the model might appreciate this preview of the 2013 Mustang--

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HiyhXf_KVc0  Pay close attention to each "observer" and then the Mustang as it passes.

This is an advance preview of the new "Release your inner Mustang" commercial which will be aired during the Daytona 500 this coming Sunday.

My older brother was lucky enough to get one of the 1st Mustangs delivered in So Cal (Chaffee Motors, Hawthorne) back in 1964. Yellow with black interior. Really was a head turner back then. I saw a couple when I was in Europe in '65, one in Brussels and another tooling along one the back roads in Tuscany. They got their share of looks too:-) I am sure Ford will sell all they make of this new model! Hard to believe the Mustang has been around for nearly 50 years!! Yikes, I feel old:-(

I remember my first Mustang sighting. I started working in my home town Ford dealership in 1964 at the age of 14 (for 50 cents an hour !). As I was dusting one of those Mustangs in the showroom (white exterior with red interior) I can still recall the window sticker base price just under $2,400.00. Boy how times have changed.

Times have changed, although I think if you'd do the math, the price today might not be that much off of the price back then, when related back to income levels. As in, minimum wage now is probably the same multiple that the sticker price has become.

I am in the middle of restoring my brothers 64 1/2 convertible.   289 4-barrel 4-speed manual.

I think I'll drive it a while before it gets returned to him....

Pretty Cool, I'll post my wife's 1969 "black raven black" Mach 1 with a 428 cobra jet engine with shaker hood.
Ford has gotten close, but "No Cigar".
Question: Can we make big bucks importing 60's model "muscle cars" to the UK or Germany???
