Seat tilt wheel

I plan to change the backrest cushion on the driver's side. Could anyone tell me how to remove the seat tilt adjustment wheel?
Much obliged.

There is a center cap in the middle of the wheel.  You need to carefully remove this cap.  To do that, you need to look at the backside of the tilt wheel (while it is still on the seat).  As you rotate the wheel you will notice that there are two holes on the backside of the wheel.  You need to put something blunt and about the diameter of a big screwdriver through these holes to push the cap off.  Don't use something sharp and be careful -- the center cap is NLA.  When the cap is off, then you will see the nut or screw that holds the wheel on.  (Assumption - you have a car other than an early 230 SL, which has a different wheel all together)
