Brake Line Axle Clamp

This clamp holds down the rear brake lines to the rear axle. Can anyone tell me what this clamp is called and where can I find these to replace them?
 I've tried the usual sources and I cannot locate them.

Hello Tony, have a look on here, not sure of the proper name, it's a strap type clamp with a cotter pin, you buy the parts separately depending on the length you need, still available it seems from a few sources

I use the "cotter clamp" name, but I believe they are Beru clamps. As Bob H indicated pretty easy to find. The brake lines will use the 9 mm banding. They should not be painted, and will be the silver metal.

The small rubber covers on the brake lines should be available.

As a note, these are the same rubber items used on the hood rod.

Original cars will have these clamps in a few places under the hood.  Entrance and exit of heater core comes to mind.

Replacing my brake lines so now is the time to do it correctly without the black paint and also replace the rubber items I ordered from the Classic Center.

Take a look at BobH's post and use the link to the technical manual. It gives you a pretty good idea how to do it. The Kit sold by Authentic Classics also is supposed to have directions.
I have never done it myself but hopefully I'll figure it out.

I've done it.  It's not too hard the 3rd time you do it.  Having the room to use a tool to twist the cotter pin is the key.

A small screwdriver works reasonably well. I took a medium size nail (sorry about the unclear sizing here it should be 2.5 cm/.10 inch) and bent the tip of the nail to 90 degrees it helps in some of the tight spaces. I think you need about 1-1.5 cm bent over.

The kit from Authentic Classic does include two small metal rods, one large, one small.

Note that the later 280 SLs harmonized all the clamps to use the Norma style. The change occurred at VIN ending 16063 (13 Feb70) Listed in Pagoda Notes Vol 11 No. 3 - which is available in the Technical Manual.
